Pingsta is seeking experienced Software Engineers and Summer 2008
interns to join our development team. The position is full-time and is based in
our Redwood City, CA offices. The successful candidates will report directly to
the CTO and help build the next-generation system behind Pingsta's products,
create cutting-edge collaborative tools, straddle information retrieval
algorithms with fearless drive and creativity and build highly scalable web
applications.
Responsibilities:
- Design software components in Ruby on Rails, PHP, and Java
- Create web applications primarily using Ruby on Rails and Implement web interfaces using XHTML, CSS, Javascript and AJAX
- Design and optimize relational databases
- Incorporate cross-functional ideas and innovations
- Conduct design and code review
Requirements:
- B.S. Computer Science or related field
- Expertise in Ruby on Rails, PHP, AJAX, JavaScript, XML, CSS
- Excellent working Knowledge of relational databases and SQL, preferably MySQL or PostgreSQL
- A strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive.
- Great interpersonal skills along with excellent written and verbal
communication.
Agile multitasker that copes well in interrupt-driven environments

Position Purpose:
This position is responsible for leading the Penny Newman Milling (PNM)
maintenance department to ensure an efficient, high quality, cost effective
operating facility. Responsibilities include development and implementation of
preventative maintenance program, successful management of capital projects,
respond to mechanical failures in a timely manner, work closely with the entire
management team on initiatives to improve quality and reduce cost, develop
skills and abilities of assigned staff, and proactively make recommendations and
follow through on improving overall processing systems, including environmental
concerns. As one of two plant LOLPF management staff at PNM; coordinate site
management and supervisory coverage with PNM Plant Manager.
Required (Basic) Experience & Education:
High school or GED equivalent.
Required Competencies & Other Skills:
Must possess leadership and supervisory skills, strong
communication/interpersonal skills, decision making and problem solving skills,
and the ability to plan and organize. Must possess a mechanical aptitude,
demonstrated computer skills, and the ability to evaluate processes. Must be
able to work as part of a team.
Preferred Experience & Education:
Technical training or 4-year college degree with two plus years supervisory
experience. Two years experience in feed production with supervisory experience.
