Dr. Mahalik has expertise in the field of Mechatronics, Control and System-of-Systems (SoS). He endeavors in the development of curriculum for Processing and Packaging Automation Technology. His research interest includes Distributed Control, Intelligent Sensors/Actuators, Computational Intelligence, Evolutionary Algorithm and Optimization, Industrial Sustainability, Virtual tools and Quality of Service (QoS) issues. He teaches Industrial Process Control, Automated Systems, Electricity and Electronics, Processing and Packaging Automation Technology, and Research Methodology. He has authored and edited 5 Books and 12 Book Chapters. He has been a member of NAIT (National Association of Industrial Technology, USA), ISA (Instruments, Systems and Automation Society, USA (past member)), ASABE (American Association of Agricultural and Biological Engineers, USA), and IAE (International Association of Engineers, Hong Kong). Dr. Mahalik is the Editors-in-chief of the International Journal of Automation and Control (IJAAC). He was the recipient of Brain Korea-21 Fellowship. Dr. Mahalik had academic visits to many foreign countries including Australia, Japan, Russia, South Korea and United Kingdom.
