Dr. Daming Zhang is a specialist in engine and power train, NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness) CAE, and finite element and boundary element simulation. His research interests include engine technology and vehicle development, noise estimation and reduction, as well as finite element and boundary element analysis in automotive, aerospace, semiconductor, and optoelectronic industries. He teaches courses in vehicle, engine, and power train technologies. Dr. Zhang is a member of Society of Automobile Engineers (SAE) and American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).

Before joining California State University at Fresno, Dr. Daming Zhang has more than 12-year industrial experience working as Engineering Specialist at the Core Engine Simulation Center of Excellence of Caterpillar Inc., Senior Engineer at the Engine NVH Department of FEV Engine Technology Inc., and Senior Engineer of Optimal CAE Inc. doing consulting at Chrysler Corporation and Ford Motor Company. Dr. Zhang also has 10-year teaching experience at the Department of Mechanical Engineering of Wayne State University, and the Department of Aerospace Engineering of Northwestern Polytechnical University.
