Dr. Z. Jun Weng


Jun WengDr. Z. Jun Weng currently is a Research Fellow, Food Processing Systems Division, FMC Technologies, Inc. Prior to that he was manager of Process and R&D Technology.

He has been working in the food industry for more than 15 years. His field of expertise is computer mathematical modeling and process optimization for in-container (canning) and in-flow (aseptic) thermal pasteurization and sterilization process lines. He is a food safety and thermal process expert and is the developer of many worldwide well known thermal process calculation software for canning and aseptic processing industry. His latest projects include an aseptic processing line for low-acid foods containing particles, and developing JSP-1™ almond surface pasteurizer to kill deadly Salmonella (recognized as process authority).

Dr. Weng has more than seven US patents. He has published many scientific papers and numerous international conference and industry-invited presentations. Jun earned his Bachelor in Agricultural Science from Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China. He earned Master Degree in 1988 and Doctorate Degree in 1991 in Food Engineering from Katholieke University of Leuven, Belgium.
